Miriam

I finally got to meet my newest niece last weekend! She is almost 2 months old and precious. The dress she is wearing was made by her great-great-grandmother and is beautifully preserved. Since Miriam quickly grew annoyed by her aunt's photo shoot, I was able to focus on capturing the delicacy of such a treasured heirloom while her mother consoled her.

Puttin on the Ritz

These little guys were the grandsons of the bride at the wedding I photographed a couple weeks ago. They were so excited/nervous/awkward/annoyed about the whole process...it was fun to capture them at any given moment. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Jackson. Firstborn. 10-years old. Smart. These pictures blew me (and his mother) away...he's already getting handsome. He was a great sport about this too....the bugs were bad during this photo shoot!

This is 8-year old Alyssa....she has a sweet disposition and is a wonderful helper with the little ones. My son calls her Montana for some odd reason but he adores her!

For the next week or so I'm going to post some images from the time I spent with my best friend and her family last week. She has five amazing children and I think I'll focus on one a day until I get some more material. This here is 7-year old Eli...sweet, fun-loving, high-energy Eli:

I took these a few weeks ago for some family friends while their granddaughter was in town. Her grandmother has gorgeous gardens in her backyard so it was a breeze finding pretty props and backdrops!

Grand Re-Opening

So this is me making the commitment to re-launch my photography business. I haven't done much professionally since Jack was born but he just turned two and I'm itching for a new endeavor. I did primarily wedding photography in the pre-Jack days but now I am setting out to focus on portraits...casual, on-location, natural light portraits. That being said, I'm shooting a wedding tonight. But my new passion is portraits and I've certainly had enough practice after two years and tens of thousands of pictures of Jack! We'll start with this photo blog and then upgrade to the website as soon as it's construction is complete.

Having just bought a new lens for this endeavor, my friend Anca let me practice on her newborn, sweet baby Luke. Just look at those infinite eyes!
